The 2008 Colon Cancer Challenge Race and Walk was held yesterday, March 9th, with great success. Over six thousand people took part in the 15K and 4-mile races, and many hundreds more participated in the Remembrance Walk. Here is a little bit of the action of the day.

Be sure to also take a look at the "News of the Day" page, featuring a follow-up message from Dr. Weber and race results.

Photos by Bill Bramswig, except as noted

Sanofi-Aventis provided a giant, walk-through model of a colon, so that visitors could understand what it is that a doctor looks for. Examples of polyps, colitis, and cancerous sections are explained by means of models and explanatory signs.
The message is that colon cancer is preventable, beatable, and treatable!
