Spotlight on Our Founder: Dr. Weber

The founder and executive director of Partners in Prevention is Thomas K. Weber M.D. (on the right in the red jacket and inset picture), professor of surgery and molecular genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a world recognized leader and expert in colon cancer. His work on colon cancer—ranging from research in molecular genetics to screening advocacy—dates back to his post surgical residency work at Harvard in the late 1980s. Additionally, Dr. Weber is chief of surgery, Einstein-Weiler Hospital part of Montefiore Medical Center, chairman of the National Colon Cancer Roundtable (www.nccrt.org), co-chair of New York City’s Colon Cancer Prevention Campaign, member of the board of governors of the American College of Surgeons, past president of the Collaborative Group of Americas, and published researcher in the molecular genetic pathways of colon cancer and surgical and medical aspects of treating cancer.
