Race scoring

Both the 15K and 4-mile are scored races that count toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2010 need to qualify for eligibility for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2011.

This race is timed using the ChronoTrack timing system. The timing device is a D-Tag that you will receive attached to your bib number. You must remove the D-Tag from your race number and attach it to your shoe prior to the race, following the instructions that you receive with the bib. The tag is disposable; it will not be collected after the race. All participants in this race must wear the tag in order to have their times recorded.

The walk is unscored. Your time will not be recorded; please check the clock at the finish line. This walk does not count toward qualifying for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon.

Baggage facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided on Center Road near the start area as a convenience. If you’re using this baggage service, please allow yourself enough time to get to the start, and bring an inexpensive bag in which to put your items. Pin the baggage tag that is attached to your number to your bag. Please leave your valuables at home. NYRR is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Online Training

No matter what your goal or distance, NYRR and Training Peaks can be with you every step of the way as you prepare to go the distance. Sign up now for a training plan from coach Andrew Kastor for the marathon, half-marathon, 10K, or 5K. [More info]
